How it all started...
It all began in April, 1980 with several families who lived in this area but were attending Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks, ND. They, along with Pastor Ken Shaffer were sent to start a church here in Larimore, ND. We began meeting in the Larimore Elementary School with 23 people that first Sunday. A short time later, the old Presbyterian church building on the corner of 3rd and Booth Street was purchased and the men began immediate work on renovating the building and preparing it for future services. This building was a great starting place, but soon there was a need to find something larger for the growing church.
The 4 acres of land where we are currently located was generously donated to us. Through the hard work and generosity of many people, we moved into our new church building in May of 1989. This building would receive a new addition during a construction project from 2002-2004.
Pastor Shaffer served the Lord faithfully here until his retirement in August of 2019. At this time, Josh Fryman was unanimously voted to become the new pastor. We are thankful for how the Lord has allowed us to grow throughout the years, and we understand that it is because of His grace and mercy that we are here. We pray that the Lord allows us to continue to see Him grow His church in the years to come!
